Red Ribbon Club (RRC)
The Red Ribbon Club is functioning since 2006 to create and provide an opportunity to satisfy the zeal of volunteers among college students to contribute towards the control and prevention of HIV & AIDS. The Red Ribbon Club is a voluntary program for students in educational institutions. The programme enriches the knowledge, attitude and behavior of the youth in the interrelated areas of Voluntary Blood Donation, HIV, AIDS and sexuality. It amplifies the access of safe and sound health together with ample supply of blood to all the needy, by the encouragement of regular voluntary blood donation.
The RRC Programme is a comprehensive promotional and preventive programme to enhance voluntary blood donation as well as streamline HIV & AIDS prevention. It also provides care, support and treatment impact, mitigation and stigma reduction, among the youth in educational institutions.
The RRC club’s primary motto is to generate donation of blood. This club has been formulated to spread the value of blood donation among the educational sectors and to rural students.
